Over the years, I’ve built dozens of different backyard playgrounds. To be honest, they’re a lot of fun to assemble. But I cringe every time I open the instructions. Long story short, they can be rather confusing. With that said, it’s still pretty straight forward. There isn’t much thought process involved. I can stay focused until the job is done. But swing set construction does have its drawbacks.
Building a Backyard Discovery Endeavor.
I don’t have many complaints about this model from Backyard Discovery. The brand usually produces quality products. The wood is light and cheap, but treated fairly well. I try to use gloves when I can because they pretty much soak the lumber.
The instructions are straight forward and the pieces that go together are actually together in the box. This makes swing set construction so much easier. I ended up picking up the playground from my customer and building most of in in my shop. So, it only took me about 4 hours to install.

Most playground instructions are hard to decipher. Pictures always help. But they can really mess with your eyesight haha! In other words, it can be hard to pinpoint the angle. Some companies are better than others. But when the description doesn’t make sense, things can go south quickly.

Most of these backyard structures are put together in a similar fashion. The key is getting organized and not losing track of the fasteners. If you happen to be clumsy, a good magnet always comes in handy.
For the most part, you’re dealing with bolts and T-nuts. It’s really not that complicated if you’re handy with power tools.
