I’ve done something similar to this in the past but every accent wall has unique qualities. Dimensions and design play a big role, but the focal point is what matters.
The electric fireplace was 8 inch (“) deep and the TV mount retracted the TV to around 7 7/8”. So, I framed the 3D TV wall 8 1/8″ out. With the 1/2″ drywall, the custom build out was 8 5/8″ deep.
This homeowner had water leaking in through the masonry work down into the bay window. The curved drywall needed to be replaced.
