I may be new to the Midsouth, but I’m no stranger to quality work. The past 12 years, I’ve been sitting at a desk, managing creative campaigns and strategies. I cared about my work, but I hated it. Here are some frequently asked questions about my services, processes, and what sets me apart as a handy professional in the Memphis area.

Do you offer electrical services?

Outside of TV mounting and instances with wiring behind drywall, I do not advertise electrical services. Now, I don’t mind sharing my opinion on some things I learned while working with low voltage, I’d rather leave electric work to certified professionals.

Can you deliver materials to my location?

I have an account with Lowes and Home Depot and delivery is included in most construction projects. At the same time, there are some materials, such as expensive wood, that we’ll want to hand select on our own. We can also work something out with Maximus Building Supply as well. Some construction projects can take a lot of maneuvering to get the best of what we need at the best price. So, it can be hard to answer this question without knowing the extent of the build.

Do you offer plumbing services.

Like electric, this is something I like to leave to the certified pros. I can give some feedback but I have zero experience in plumbing and don’t anticipate picking up the trade anytime soon. I can help with faucets and some drain stuff, but I’d rather not mess with water inside.

What is the general wait time for 1 Handy Craftsman?

If you have a big project during the summer, it’s about 3-4 weeks. During the winter, 1-2 weeks. If you have a small job or a repair, then I try to leave a few windows open during large projects to ensure I have time. Since I set my schedule with my wife every week, my availability could be something like a Tuesday evening, Thursday morning or Saturday drop in. Hope this helps!

The definition of “handy” is pretty cut and dry. It’s got little to do with ambition and everything to do with convenience and skill. Around Memphis, there’s a big difference between a pro handyman and an extra set of hands.

At first, I wasn’t a fan of the term. Most handypersons are considered masters of none. But the shoe fits. After doing random jobs on Handy Apps, I realized I really enjoy helping people and listening to their stories.

I started 1 Handy Craftsman because i believe I have a unique skillset. Wood framing, drywall, fences and decks are second nature to me. I grew up learning angles and saw cuts, so no challenge is too big for me.
