If the house was constructed to code, all walls should have a vertical 2×4″ wooden stud every 16″ (to center behind the sheetrock or wall surface). If there is a larger gap, a stud should be added, despite the structure. Either way, this is extremely uncommon and most walls can hold any sized television. If there is any damage or rotting, we obviously have a bigger problem and you should probably take back that TV.
If you have a screened in porch or large patio then it’s OK to hang an indoor TV outside. It’s just not going to last very long. You can buy a case or cover for the TV, but he humidity near Memphis is brutal. Outdoor TVs are pretty expensive and heavy. It takes a lot more skill for a TV mounting pro to hand one. The value and mounting difficulty also makes the installation cost more.
If the weight of the TV falls under the weight capacity of the mount (and it’s secure to the wall), we should be able to use the current brackets on the new TV. Although some brackets make the screen higher or lower, most flat mounts work on all new devices. The only issue I’ve run into involve the smaller, swivel frames that only hang on 3 lag screws.
Anyone that claims to be a TV Mounting Pro should be able to work with projector systems. It’s basic electric. We can hide the wires and cables in the ceiling the same way we would in the wall. As long as there is amble space in the room, we can customize any space to maximize the visibility and storage.
Yes. I cut out a square in the drywall next to one of the studs we’re mounting the tv to. This allows me to feed the power cord down to the outlet. A cover is used for a clean look. If the power source is a good distance away, I also can feed power through the attic. With so much framing experience, I definitely consider myself a TV mounting pro.
